Shopify is a platform where your store runs as a subscription service: Shopify handles hosting, security and platform updates, and you pay a monthly subscription directly to Shopify. It usually suits brands that sell outside Serbia or don't want to manage a server. Important: Shopify Payments is not available in Serbia, so payments are handled another way (details below). We build every Shopify store from a written quote with an exact amount, scope and timeline.
When Shopify is a good fit, and when it isn't
A good fit if you:
- also sell to customers outside Serbia;
- don't want to manage hosting and updates;
- want a stable platform with a large app ecosystem;
- accept a monthly subscription as a business cost.
Probably not the best fit if you:
- sell almost only in Serbia and want domestic card payments through your bank. WooCommerce is often the better choice then;
- need processes a standard platform doesn't cover.
Payments in Serbia: what to know
- Shopify Payments is not available in Serbia.
- PayPal (availability is checked for each business), cash on delivery and bank transfer are used.
- We don't promise domestic card payments on Shopify without written confirmation from the payment provider.
- Terms, fees and approval are set by Shopify and the payment providers, not by us. We check them for your business before quoting.
What a quote can include
The exact scope is set out in the written quote. A quote can include:
- Design and theme setup: adapting an existing theme or a unique design, for desktop and mobile.
- Store structure: collections, product pages with variants, basic pages (shipping, returns, contact) based on text you provide.
- Payments and shipping: setting up the available payment methods and shipping rules, as agreed.
- Markets and languages: setting up selling in several markets and languages, as far as your Shopify plan allows, if agreed.
- Apps: selecting and configuring apps; you pay their subscriptions.
- Product import or migration: a spreadsheet import or a move from your existing store, to the extent the data can be exported.
- Launch and training: going live and training in the Shopify admin, to the extent set out in the quote.
The Shopify account and subscription are in your name. We recommend you open the account yourself and give us collaborator access. Monthly maintenance (Shopify Care) is a separate, optional service at a published price.
How much does a Shopify store cost?
You receive the build price in a written quote as an exact amount in euros. We don't publish a fixed or starting price. It depends mostly on the number of products and variants, the design level, the number of markets and languages, the apps to configure, and whether we migrate an existing store. - The Shopify subscription (current prices are on Shopify's website).
- Paid themes and apps, if you choose them.
- Payment provider fees.

Can I accept card payments on Shopify from Serbia?
Shopify Payments is not available in Serbia. PayPal (availability is checked for each business), cash on delivery and bank transfer are used. We don't promise domestic card payments without written confirmation from the provider.
Who owns the store?
The Shopify account and subscription are in your name. We work as a collaborator with the access you approve.
Can I move away from Shopify later?
Products and customers can be exported, but the theme and apps are tied to Shopify. We discuss this before choosing a platform.
Do I have to pay for apps?
Some apps are free, others are paid monthly. Before quoting you get a list of the proposed apps, so you know those costs too.
How long does the build take?
The timeline depends on the scope and is stated in the written quote. It starts once we receive your content and the deposit.
